Team Parkinson® LA 2020

The Berns Team

Join our team!

This year I am proud to run my first ever marathon in memory of my amazing father, Don Berns, who battled & persevered in his journey with Parkinsons from his diagnosis in 1981 at the age of 33 until his body could fight no longer and he went to be with our Lord on June 5, 2017.
I have never been a runner so embarking on a journey of running a marathon with only a little over a month to prepare is a little nuts, but this is nothing compared to what I saw every day as my dad fought the good fight and continued to exercise even when his body hardly was working. I would love to be a part of finding the cure for this disease and so partnering with The Parkinson's Alliance & Team Parkinson's at The LA Marathon in 2020 seems like a no brainer.
I would love to have your support in raising money for a cure and as I persevere and struggle to the finish line, I ask you to show your support for my dad and all those who are fighting the challenges of Parkinson's Disease. My goal is to raise a minimum of $1500 through running this race for Parkinson's Research. Additionally, I am raising money for the Justin Turner Foundation which is making an impact in the lives of Veterans and are being supported by the ministry of The Dream Center LA. I have another separate page for that ministry/support opportunity.
Thanks for your Support of my involvement in LA Marathon 2020 with Team Parkinson! This is about raising money to find a cure for Parkinson's Disease and honoring the legacy of my father, Don Berns.
