Support our involvement in Team Parkinson!
Our family is participating in the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon and LA Big 5K in honor of Frank Adkins.
Frank's story is not much different than the approximate 1 million Americans diagnosed with Parkinson's disease today. He was just a humble man doing the right things to raise his family while living a modest yet fulfilling life. One day, life threw us a slider when Frank was given the news that he was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease.
Rather than give in to the news, Frank simply stood up, walked out of the doctor's office and carried on with his life. With Frank's strong will and unbreakable spirit, supplemented with advanced medicine and technology to fight Parkinson's, he's gone on to complete his career serving the state of California as a civil attorney, raising three wonderful children with his lovely wife Cynthia, and caring after the seemingly endless wave of horses, dogs, and cats that are scattered throughout their home. Frank continues to maintain an active lifestyle today working in the yard, doing tai chi, cooking fabulous meals, writing his own science fiction novels, and cheering on his UCLA Bruins, Dodgers, and Lakers.
It is our honor and privilege to run the Los Angeles Marathon and LA Big 5K for Frank with the goal of raising awareness and funds to support the fantastic advances in Parkinson's disease research.
